Charles L A Smith

A self-taught painter, Charles L. A. Smith spent his early career in Chicago, Illinois. He visited California sometime before 1908, and settled in Los Angeles in the 1920s. Smith became the art director of the Jonathan Club, a private club in California, and remained there until his death. Smith is known for his landscapes and portraits.
