After twenty-five years working as a commercial and fine art photographer, Steve Wrubel turned his lens exclusively to the American rodeo, traveling from Montana to Texas to capture the sport’s raucous energy. Using advanced graphic techniques and technology, Wrubel freezes the action so the viewer can examine crisp details of the sport that, in motion, are invisible to the naked eye. To further distill and clarify the compositions, he isolates his subjects from their background, increasing their appearance of monumentality.
