Sara Linda Poly is known for her sweeping skies and landscapes. Her work is inspired by local eastern scenes, western vistas and other locations to which her love of plein air painting has taken her.
Poly resided in the Philadelphia area until 1977 when she moved to Washington, DC. Her studies were done through the Philadelphia Academy of Arts, Montgomery College of Art And Design, NOVA Community College, and with various local and national artists. Her travels around the country, particularly the west, and abroad, led her to focus on landscape.
Originally owning a graphic arts and illustration business, Sara went on to do portraiture and work as an assitant gallery director. Presently she works full time painting and teaching.
As an instructor at the Art League in Alexandria, VA and The Easton Studio and School, in Easton, MD. she teaches classes in plein air and studio painting. She also teaches various travel workshops locally, nationally and abroad. (see Workshops page for more information).
Presently living in Easton, MD, Sara is a member of the Washington Society of Landscape Painters www.wslp.org , the Oil Painters of America and The Mid Atlantic Plein Air Painters of America.
