Sandra Jeknavorian was born in Hartford, Connecticut in 1974. She attended Hartford Art School where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Art degree, studying and creating large-scale abstract paintings and drawings. In 1999, after working at many odd jobs and spending a year in San Francisco, she began attending the University of Massachusetts, Amherst to obtain her Masters Degree in Painting. Here she embarked on a new body of representational work which she is still pursuing. Sandra lives in Connecticut with her husband, sculptor Sean Langlais, where they continue to exhibit and create their work while enjoying careers teaching art. Sandra is a faculty member at Three Rivers Community College in Norwich, Connecticut.
