Samia Abdel Wahed

Samia AbdelWahed was born in Cairo, Egypt. She spent many years traveling with her father, a diplomat, to Middle East, South America and USA since 1975.

In 1984, she was inspired to study photography by the artistic works of the great photographer Ansel Adams. The way he brilliantly photographed the beauty and splendor of nature at Yosemite National Park captivated her imagination. As she puts it, his photographs “fascinated her like Magic”.

Presently she holds a degree in photography, and a specialization in studio photography.

Her photographs in fine art are a reflection of her feelings. She captures the beauty of nature in color and black & white infrared film. She seeks to emphasize the shape and the color of the subject, especially flowers, through the dramatic use of light.

Over the past ten years she participated in several exhibits in United States.
