Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, Richard Crozier earned a BFA from the University of Washington in Seattle. He studied with Wayne Thiebaud at the University of California, Davis, and earned an MFA in painting. Since 1974, he has been a Professor of Studio Art at the University of Virginia, and continues to live at Charlottesville.
