Peter Vought studied Fine Art at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, The Art Student’s League in New York City, and at The Academie de la Grande Chaumiere and the Academie Julien in Paris, France. He has lived in the western United States (Aspen, Colorado and Santa Fe, New Mexico) since the 1950s. Vought paints abstracted images of the undeveloped American landscape – the landscape before urban and industrial development. His paintings have been exhibited at museums and galleries in Santa Barbara, California and Santa Fe, New Mexico.
