A fiber artist and teachier, Norman Foster earned B.A. degrees in 1948 from New York University and from Mexico City College in Mexico. In 1950, he received a Master of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Missouri and also was awarded a teaching fellowship. He became an art instructor at Jefferson City College in Missouri.
His work has been a part of the Art in Embassies Program in Kazakhstan, and is in the California collections of the Fresno Art Museum and Monterey Museum of Art.
