

Through her abstract paintings and works on paper, Namibian artist, educator, and activist Nicky Marais seeks to convey “the drama of what happens in the spaces between things, the portals, and the liminality of the in-between.” To visualize these ephemeral sites of convergence, Marais has developed a personal vocabulary of forms and color which she applies in an intuitive process of repetition, distortion, and layering.
