Nancy Dunaway is an Arkansas artist, who lives in Hot Springs with her husband, Tom Drewes, and their 4 black rescued dogs. Her work is eclectic and includes acrylic painting, mixed media on canvas & paper and collage work, mono-prints, artist’s books, boxes and altars.
“I am a layerist and my work reflects that with its many layers of paint and materials and stories. I work from my center and feel that my work expresses my own journey and experiences in a way that others can see their journey in it as well. I am fascinated by the natural world and the imagined world and often meld the two as I explore media and materials. I think of my work as a dialogue between the materials or the canvas and me. I hope it encourages dialogue among those who view it and provides a bridge of communication.”
