Sister,Sisteris the story of interlocking relationships; the way that we both push and pull those close to us to find both the independence and stability that we crave. The repetition of “sister” in the title nods to the symmetry and asymmetry of the composition. The snakes, like sisters, are the same but different. Of course, everyone has their feelings about snakes. They are generally overlooked and shunned but really they are powerful creatures with an important role in keeping nature balanced. The snake form is a means to paint from one end of the surface to the other while connecting and intensifying the movement of the painting. The looping forms are punctuated with flat circle-moons that pin the energy of composition.
