Mala Iqbal was born in and currently lives in New York. She received an Master of Fine Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1998 and a Bachelor of Arts from Columbia University in 1995. In 2008, she received a Fellowship in Painting
from the New York Foundation for the Arts. She has had four solo exhibitions and has participated in many group exhibitions. She has been included in the Altoids Curiously Strong Collection at The New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York,
the Queens Museum of Art in New York and the collection of the Progressive Corporation in Ohio.
