Kurt Solmssen creates large-scale and semi-narrative oil paintings directly from life in and around his family home on Puget Sound in Seattle. Saturated with luminous primary colors, his intimate works convey a deeply felt sense of place that incorporates elements of architecture and domesticity: “the emotion of the place is more important than the geography.”
