Keith Jacobshagen has celebrated a simple, honest view of nature for nearly thirty years. Based in Nebraska but well known throughout the country, Jacobshagen employs landscape as a vehicle for metaphor. While his paintings examine the topographical and geological characteristics of the landscape, they also use the genre to symbolize and explore the artist’s relationships, memories and conversations. As a result, Jacobshagen can be counted among the handful of contemporary American landscape painters known for being true to both the modern concepts of painting and to the landscape itself.
