“My work acknowledges and embraces the property of the material—both sensational and perceptional—and then provides the material a new context. I sculpt with paint,” says Jenny Wu. “I pour latex paint one thick layer at a time, let each layer dry, and repeat the process thirty to forty times. I then cut into the dried layer paint, reveal the cross section, and use those dried paint layers to sculpt.” Wu’s work has been exhibited in galleries and museums across the world.
