Jeffrey Reed creates observational paintings of landscapes in the eastern United States and Ireland. Although rendered on small-scale canvases, his work intimately portrays the evocative nature of his subject matter—specifically, vistas of farmland and fields with rural houses and barns nestled in the countryside. “When I developed an interest in art, it was partnered with my interest in the natural world,” he said. “It was an easy choice for me as to what I would paint…The experience of working on location, when the light and weather are changing, is what I like the most.”
