Halil Tikveša was born in Šurmanci, Bosnia and Herczegovina. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, Belgrade, in 1961. From 1976 to 2000 Halil Tikveša worked as the Professor for graphic – drawing subject at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad. Since 2001, he has been visiting professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo. Tikveša has been exhibiting his drawings, paintings, graphics, collages, assemblages and objects since 1962.
