Frederick Nichols

A graduate of the University of Virginia (BA) and Pratt Institute (MFA), Frederick Nichols has been exhibiting his paintings and silkscreen prints in galleries and museums throughout this country and abroad for over thirty years. Since 1972, Nichols has had 26 solo exhibitions, including shows at the Rich-Perlow Gallery in New York, OK Harris Gallery in Scottsdale, Arizona, Capricorn Gallery in Bethesda, Maryland, Columbus Museum of Art in Ohio and the Virginia Museum of Art in Richmond.

Nichols has won numerous awards for his work, including a purchase award at the 1991 International Triennale of Print in Osaka, Japan. His work was exhibited at the 2005 & 2009 “International Biennale of Contemporary Art,” in Florence, Italy. In 2005, he participated in the international exhibition, “Renaissance,” at the Hygo Prefectural Museum of Art in Kobe, Japan, commemorating the 10th anniversary of the post-earthquake restoration. His work is found in numerous corporate and public collections, including AT&T, Ethyl Corporation,The US Department of State,The Butler Museum of American Art,The Mississippi Museum of Art and The Osaka Cultural Center in Japan. Frederick Nichols maintains a printmaking workshop and painting studio in Barboursville, Virginia.
