Eric Hudson was a painter and printmaker who created vivid depictions of the Atlantic coastline. Born in Boston, Hudson sailed the waters of New England seeking picturesque subjects, primarily seascapes and boating scenes. He painted with loose, expressive brushwork that evoked a sense of spontaneity and atmosphere. As one contemporary reviewer wrote, “Eric Hudson…not only makes you feel the sea, but, out of his own experiences, increases your knowledge of it.”
