Debebe Tesfay was born in 1976 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He joined the Addis Ababa University School of Fine Arts and Design in 1996 and graduated in 1999 in painting. He is currently working as a full time studio artist in Saron art studio.
Debebe has exhibited his works at several places in Ethiopia and abroad. Djibouti, Sudan, Zambia Lusaka, Germany, USA, and France. He has worked as a part-time art instructor in different schools since he graduated.
