Carol Jazzar

Carol Jazzar is a self-though interdisciplinary artist who lives and works in Miami, Florida.

The core of her work is centered on Nature, our inner Nature, and Nature at large, Mother Nature. She sustains two practices: one in the studio, which revolves around collages, drawings, and writing. and the other outdoors, where she employs photography and site-specific installations using organic materials such as leaves, plants, and tree branches. This dual practice allows her to connect with the inner and the outer worlds, become a human bridge between the two, and then share this understanding through her work with others,

“I approach my practice from a psychological and/or spiritual perspective. Often working intuitively, I harness the power of images to evoke or trigger emotions. These emotional responses serve as a gateway, inviting me and, later, the viewer to pause, observe, and evaluate what we see through the prism of our perception. Perception is at the heart of my practice. Are we perceiving through the brilliance or the deceit of our minds – our illusions and the trickery of the image? With the advancement of AI, it will become increasingly challenging for us to distinguish what is real and what is not. For this reason, in my outdoor practice, I use natural organic materials instead of technology to make my point – we have established that they are ‘real’ so I can question our perception more subtly.”
