Betsy Stewart was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from American University, Washington, D.C., and has completed post-graduate work with William Calfee, Washington, D.C., and at Parsons School of Design, Lake Placid, New York. Her paintings have been purchased by some of the most prominent public and private art collectors today. A Washington, D.C. artist, her work is carried by galleries in New York City and Santa Fe, New Mexico. In addition to a recent acquisition by the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., and the American Embassy in Barbados, her artwork can be found hanging in major cities nationally and internationally, including New York, San Francisco, Santa Fe, London, and Beirut.
