A graduate of Youngstown State University, A.J. Soppelsa exhibited his paintings at the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, Ohio, the Canton Art Museum in Canton, Ohio; in galleries at Cleveland State University, Youngstown State University, and in private collections. He died at age 88 in Olmstead Falls, Ohio, in January, 2008.
