Andrea Arroyo is a visual artist based in New York. Her projects include studio work, public art, and commissions. Her exhibition record includes thirty-one individual and over 100 group exhibitions in galleries and museums in the U.S. and abroad. She was selected by President Bill Clinton to create the Clinton Global Citizen Award. Other honors include 21 Leaders for the 21st Century Award, Groundbreaking Latina in the Arts Award, Official Artist of the Latin Grammys, Outstanding Latina of the Year, New York City Council Citation Award for Achievement in Art, New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowships, Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance Awards, Puffin Foundation Award, Harlem Arts Alliance Award, the Manhattan Community Arts Fund of the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council Grant.
Arroyo’s work is included in numerous public collections, including The Library of Congress, The Smithsonian Institute, The New York Public Library, The Latin Recording Academy of Arts and Sciences, The University of Richmond Museum, and The National Museum of Mexican Art, and is also in numerous private collections in the U.S., Mexico, Brazil, Europe, and Japan. Public Art projects include permanent art for the School Construction Authority, the Arts for Transit program of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority and CityArts, among others. Arroyo’s work has been published in The New Yorker, The New York Times, and The International Herald Tribune.
