Alexis Callender’s work is concerned with three-dimensional drawings and hybrid environments. Her interest in transforming drawing into a physically interactive medium stems from the historical relationship with landscape painting to the rectangle, and her desire to externalize the energy that is contained in the page or canvas, thus revealing the abstract character of the shapes found within all natural forms.
