Stuart Shils studied painting at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in the 1970’s. His work has been shown nationally since the early 90’s and in Ireland, Germany and Israel. Steven Harvey Fine Art Projects and Davis and Langdale, both in New York, represent paintings and work on paper respectively. At PAFA Shils is a weekly visiting critic and teaches outdoor master classes for them each year; and, is affiliated with the Jerusalem Studio School summer program in Italy. Awards include American Academy of Arts and Letters, Pollock Krasner, Mid Atlantic/NEA, Independence Foundation.
