Shawn Davis is a graduate of American University whose passion for documentary photography developed while volunteering for the Peace Corp and the World Food Program in Mali and Guinea, West Africa. His images and writing have appeared in national and international publications and he has exhibited in Washington, DC and Havana, Cuba. He received the Young Emerging Artist Grant from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities for Coming Home, a documentation of life in a hospice for formerly homeless men living with AIDS and cancer in Washington, DC.
