Robert F. Williams was an American impressionist painter known for his plein air landscapes of American National Parks. Williams studied at the New York School of Art under William Merritt Chase, whose teachings and style strongly influenced his work. In addition to painting landscapes, the native New Yorker worked as an etcher for a Manhattan newspaper and as an art instructor.
