Artists Emily Eveleth and Carter Potter, during the two hectic days of June 16th and 17th, 2007, met with Danish curators, gallery owners and other professionals in the arts. They were also able to engage in discussions and comparisons of American and Danish art initiatives during a luncheon and discussion at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts.
The two artists, Eveleth from the East Coast and working primarily as a painter, Potter from the West Coast and working with collages of filmstrips, differ in every way imaginable. This display of diversity in style projected to the Danes the diversity of American contemporary art. They engaged in meaningful discussions with artists and in the process, uncovered that conceptual art dominated in both America and in Denmark, tying the two nations artistically.
