An artist for more than fifty years, Philip Trager is a preeminent photographer of architecture, dance, and portrait series. Trager’s photographs, along with his twelve monographs that are regarded as modern albums, have received exceptional critical acclaim.
The Library of Congress, which has acquired a definitive collection of his photographs and presented a retrospective exhibition of his work at the National Building Museum, will house Trager’s archives. His work is held in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Smithsonian Institution, Phillips Collection, and Bibliothèque Nationale, among many other major museums in the US and worldwide.
