Photographer Weronika Gęsicka’s projects, often drawn from archival materials, address topics related to memory and its mechanisms. Through Gęsicka’s seamless digital modifications, forgotten family scenes, vacation souvenirs, and shots of everyday life acquire a new history. She explains, “Working with archival material is always a challenge because we draw on the projects of others. You have to find a way to add some new value, to show them from a different perspective.”
