“Images emerge in my work from a combination of intuition and memory. When I am outdoors walking or exploring, a particular place will often resonate with me, and I draw on the field notes from that moment and the memory of that place when I am back in the studio,” says Megan Lightell. She works in oil on canvas to pull back from an increasingly fast-paced world and reconnect to the land around her.
