For more than twenty years, photojournalist Richard Bickel has chronicled the raw beauty and vitality of Apalachicola, Florida, a town buoyed by a rich supply of oysters cultivated from the bay. His images show a diverse group of people whose daily lives revolve around the city’s lakes, rivers, and creeks. Through his photography, Bickel hopes to convey the bay’s vital role in sustaining the region’s rich culture and economy.
