I am not a painter or sculptor; I do not make movies, I am not a filmmaker. I am a maker of images, moving or not. The images I produce are an extension of my vocabulary, as are my objects and my writing. The image is the vehicle that best verbalizes my thoughts and connects all my creative output.
My work centers on the co-existence of dualities and treads blurred borders, questioning uncertain divides between opposing poles. The result queries the real position and temporality of the synthesis of extremities; positing the ‘screen’ as the seam that holds together the boundaries of such disparate realities. My work draws as vehicle on collections, both physical and virtual. My concern is to re-consider the form of such anthologies and re-use or re-cycle their content into new discourse objects, themselves in states of in-between, that undulate between their singular and collective constituency in search of an alternative reality.
Artist and researcher in Video, Fine and New Media Art. Studied Fine Art at the Edinburgh College of Art, holds an MA with distinction in Fine Art & Digital Media from Leeds University and a Ph.D. from the Electronic and Digital Art Unit of the University of Central Lancashire in the UK. Lectures at the University of Malta and is also visiting lecturer at the Unit for Contemporary Art Practice, the University of Leeds and at the School of Creative and Performing Arts at the University of Central Lancashire, Preston, UK.
