Terry Enseñat Mulert began studying the woodcarvers of Cordova in 1987. After settling in the village, he quickly developed his own unique style of carving Santos out of native aspen and juniper. These pieces are influenced by the works of Jose Delores and George Lopez of Cordova. Later, he moved in a direction reminiscent of the renowned Taos carver Patriciño Barela and through the years has produced a large body of work in both traditional and contemporary styles.
In 2001, Mulert’s works will be featured in a three-person exhibit at Regis University’s “Regis Collection” curated by Fr. Tom Steele, scholar and Jesuit priest.
