Bob McWilliams has been making high-fired, stoneware pottery on Oahu for over twenty years. He has taught ceramics at Punahou High School since August 2000 and has participated in numerous workshops and visiting teacher programs. In 2007 he visited China through a program hosted by the Wo International Center of the Punahou School, and in 2002 was selected a Fulbright Memorial Fund Fellow, through which he participated in a teaching program in Japan exploring pottery and international education. His work has been featured in Ceramics Monthly Magazine, Studio Potter Magazine, and Crafts Report News Monthly, and has been shown widely throughout the United States. McWilliams produces saimin bowls (soup bowls), pupu plates (chip-and-dip plates), pitchers, vases, and many other functional items including bowls and vessels for the Japanese tea ceremony called The Way of Tea.
