Mary Addison Hackett

Mary Addison Hackett is a painter currently living and working in Nashville, Tennessee. In addition to solo exhibitions in Los Angeles, her work has been published in New American Paintings, and she has exhibited in numerous group exhibitions in the United States (Los Angeles, Chicago, Nashville, Baltimore) and abroad (Umbria, Italy; Rotterdam, Netherlands; Montevideo, Uruguay.) Hackett’s videos have screened at local and international film festivals including The Independent Prague Film Festival, (Prague, Czech Republic), The Euro Underground Film Festival (Krakow Poland), and The Aurora Picture Show (Houston, TX). Grants and awards include The Ruth Chenven Foundation, The Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and several residency programs.

Born in Atlanta and raised in Nashville, Hackett maintained a studio in Los Angeles, before relocating to Nashville in the summer of 2010. She holds a BFA from the University of Tennessee and her MFA from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
