Kay Jackson

Kay Jackson received a Master of Fine Art in painting from George Washington University in 1984 after studying at Virginia Polytechnic and State University and the Corcoran School of Art. Using old master oil painting techniques, watercolor and traditional gilding, she explores subjects ranging from nocturnes to the environment while exhibiting across the globe. Her most distinctive work uses ancient gilding techniques to create endangered species icons and three-dimensional boxes about our fragile environment. In 1997 President and Mrs. Clinton commissioned Ms. Jackson to paint a nocturne of the White House for their official holiday card. Her work is in the permanent collections of the Corcoran Gallery of Art, the National Academy of Sciences and the National Museum of Women in the Arts. Ms. Jackson has lent work to the Art in the Embassies Program for over two decades.
