Ellen Lindner is a talented quilt artist and teacher, who is passionate about the art of quilt making. She says, “I make art quilts for the pure joy of doing so!” Known for its strong contrasts and vivid colors, her art has been shown throughout the United States, and beyond, and has been published in several magazines.
Her work is very diverse, ranging from pictorial still lifes to modernist abstracts. Although Ellen primarily employs conventional fabrics, she also uses items like window screening and produce bags. She works in a freeform collage style, while borrowing heavily from traditional quilt making techniques.

Ellen Lindner has received a variety of awards including the Artist Enhancement Grant from the state of Florida, Division of Cultural Affairs. She has had solo exhibitions at the Brevard Museum of Art and Science, Melbourne, Florida; Advent Gallery, Melbourne, Florida; and the Avenue, Melbourne, Florida. She has participated in group exhibitions at the Margaret Harwell Art Museum, Poplar Bluff, Missouri; and the Atlantic Center for the Arts at Harris House, New Smyrna Beach, Florida, to name a few.
