Elissa Gore paints large landscapes. When searching for a new image, she looks for places where the interplay of light and atmosphere transcends time. She choses color intervals to show this harmonic moment in nature. She often uses a long narrow panoramic format that resembles a Chinese scroll to help viewers imagine moving through these spaces.

Gore’s history includes more than twenty solo exhibits, and many awards. Among the more than fifty public collections that include her work are Bank One, Federal Reserve Bank of NY, Fidelity Investments, McGraw-Hill, Morgan Bank, Pfizer, TIAA/CREF, USAA , Vanguard Group and the U. S. State Department. She studied at the University of Pennsylvania, received an MA in medical illustration and taught college fine art classes for 20 years. She now teaches workshops at the New York Botanical Garden and around the country. In 2010, she was a resident fellow at the Hambidge Center in Georgia and the Studios of Key West.
