Edward Ruscha works in photography, painting, and film and has designed personal books and painted murals. His paintings featuring text are perhaps his best known and most celebrated. These images are clean and precise, seemingly lacking the personal hand of the artist, a clear indication of his longstanding interest in graphic design.
