Donald Sanchez

Donald Sanchez is known for his street photography that captures the “chance encounters of random incidences, in public places.” Sanchez first picked up the camera around the mid-1980s and began pursuing it full time; his interest in jazz led him to shoot renowned jazz musicians. Rendered in black and white, his photographic series of New York depict the daily routines and adventures of city dwellers from various background. Sanchez lives by French American photographer Elliot Erwitt’s ethos: “All the technique in the world doesn’t compensate for the inability to notice.”
