Deidre Adams specializes in painting, textiles, paper, and found objects. Although abstract in design, Adams’s mixed-media textiles incorporate structural elements—with “vertical and horizontal divisions reminiscent of windows and doorways”—or strong horizon lines evocative of the landscape. Inspired by the American Southwest, she references the “effects of time and transformation in her abstract paintings and textile work, which focus on the exploration of shape, color, texture, and mark-making.”
