Claudia “Aziza” Gibson-Hunter blends collage, painting, and printmaking to make her mixed-media works “surrounding narratives of agency, healing, memory, expressed through a condensed notion of time.” She works with acrylic paint, colored pencil, and handmade and commercial papers and implements unusual juxtapositions of color, technique, and form. “The jagged peripheries of her work denote a refusal to be contained.”
