Also known by her given name Cita Sadeli, MISS CHELOVE is an independent art director, designer, and multimedia artist. Her oeuvre is rooted in her multicultural background and life experiences—from the “tropical mysticism” of Java, Indonesia, to the “punk, go-go, and graffiti-fueled streets” of Washington, D.C. Each composition honors local communities and weaves iconic images of the past and present. Common themes include powerful women of color, nature, Indigenous cultures and street subcultures, and environmental and societal issues.
