Cindy Kane

Cindy Kane’s paintings reflect events happening in the world around us. She addresses war and conflict by combining images of fire, world maps, and newspaper headlines; by painting extinct birds on sheet music, she suggests environmental degradation; she offers hope by referencing in her work her own children and her personal heroes — writers, thinkers, spiritual and political leaders.

A largely self-taught artist who has been making art seriously since she was a child, Cindy sells some of her work locally through the Craven Gallery but feels that her collector base is generally more urban than local. For a number of years, she has been selling through galleries in San Francisco and Chicago, and Santa Fe.
