Of his work, Beau Chamberlain says, “My work focuses on creating abstract environments populated by luminous flora and fauna that exist somewhere in between reality and fantasy. Large uninhabited spaces are neither empty, nor a backdrop, but assert themselves as palpable atmospheres. They are an exploration of mutation, imitation and definability in seemingly serene environments. Made with acrylic on wood panels, the paintings create ambiguous settings in which time, place and scale remain undefined.”
He was born in 1976 in Portland, Oregon. He received his BFA at the Pratt Institute and is currently based out of Brooklyn. His bright abstract landscapes have been shown in galleries across America as well as in Europe and he has been reviewed in The New Yorker and NY Arts Magazine.
