Barry Johnston

Barry Woods Johnston fashions bold, imaginative sculptures inspired by religion, literature, and contemporary issues. Bringing a “keen eye for realism” to his works, Johnston captures “energized form and anatomy in motion with robust, gravity-defying figures.” He studied art at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Philadelphia; the National Academy of Design, New York; and the Enzo Cardini and Romanelli Studios, Florence, Italy, and has operated studios dedicated to his life-size sculptural work in Washington, D.C.; Baltimore; and New York.
