Described in 1900 as “one of the best photographers on the Pacific Coast,” Edgar Desmond Weston specialized in commercial and landscape photography. He photographed scenes for the Oregon state government, specifically U.S. army troops building fire breaks along the Cat Hill fire belt, and was the official photographer for the Medford Commercial Club, taking snapshots of orchard views and agricultural scenes along the Rogue Valley.
