In an expansive practice that comprises painting, craft, fashion, and architecture, Scottish-born, Belgium-based artist Lucy McKenzie excavates images, objects, and motifs from such diverse sources as Soviet muralism and sports photography. Rather than merely creating a pastiche, however, McKenzie uses these connections to examine our visual culture’s relationship with social, gender, and political ideologies.
